New Year, New You But Make It Real

January often brings pressure to reinvent ourselves. But you don’t need to overhaul your life to be worthy of care. Let's talk about some real goal setting.

Instead of restrictive resolutions, try this:

- Reflect: What worked for you last year? What didn’t?

- Reset: Choose one goal aligned with your values—not just aesthetics.

- Reframe: Focus on how you want to feel, not just what you want to change.

I like to do a full assessment of my life, what I need to focus on this year, and what is going well. Then I make SMART goals to help me achieve whatever I’m planning.

S: Specifically say what you want. You'd like to lose weight? Cool. But that's not enough, losing a pound would make this goal completed and thats not the aim , right? Tell yourself exactly how much so we know when you made it like, say 10lbs.

M: Make it measurable. Similar to above but tell me how. I'll pick diet change from fast food to home cooked meals to make this an easy one to conceptualize.

A: Achievable. 10lbs is an achievable goal for 4 weeks. Not 3 days, at least not in a healthy way. Keep in mind whether you can actually do what you wanted to do.

R: Relevant goals are key. If your overall vibe is getting healthy, a goal of a donut a day may not be the path. Make it make sense.

T: Timeframes matter. Like this 10lbs above. 4 weeks is healthy (losing between 2-3lbs a week).

The SMART goal becomes: Lose 10lbs in 4 weeks by cooking all meals at home.

Now that you can track!

True transformation starts with self-compassion. Whether you’re building strength, boundaries, or community do it at your pace, with purpose. Remember, consistency is key.
