Navigating Holiday Stress

The winter season brings cozy sweaters, warm drinks, and festive gatherings—but for many, it also brings a heavy emotional weight. While holidays are marketed as joyful, they can also be filled with financial strain, grief, family tensions, loneliness, and unrealistic expectations.

Check in with yourself.
What are you feeling?
Why? What thought is bringing this up?
If its family:
What boundaries do you need to protect your peace?
If it’s a project or finances:
Is what you’re stressing about absolutely necessary or is it your ideal outcome.
How can you reframe your goal to what is realistically possible and less stressful right now?
If its grief:
How can we honor your feelings and incorporate memories of who you’ve lost into the day?
If the grief is more complicated like a divorce or job loss, how can we alter the celebrations to accommodate your sorrow? (No spending all day at Uncle Jim’s isn’t absolutely necessary)
If its loneliness:
What can you do to increase your connection during this time?
Wishing you and yours peace and health!
